Skillful
Today was my 200th post over on my Substack and I have really felt challenged to write during this season of my life. I’m perfectly happy to keep going so keep sharing and reading along. Feel free to spread the word (I’ll keep the subscribe buttons below) but I’m happy to be doing this.
ONE LAST THING before we get to today’s thoughts . . .
Starting this week, you can get 20% MORE ME each week for FREE! I’m going to try and post here to archive/save my posts but it would be great if you could follow me on my Substack. I’m going to start posting my little inspirational daily musings on Fridays as well. I am still trying to find the right place to put the FRIDAY THINGS (where I share the things I’m interested in and inspired by) but I’m a little behind schedule and I want to find the right time & place for it. So for now, on Friday mornings, you’ll get two posts from me (the regular daily musings at 7am and then around 10am, I’ll share my FRIDAY THINGS).
I understand if you can’t read everything as I release them but hopefully each daily post sparks some creativity from within you and it leads to a great milestone in your life. That’s what I want more than anything.
Thanks for reading. Now let’s get back to the regularly scheduled program and I’ll see you again tomorrow . . .
“Do you see a man skillful in his work?
He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”
Proverbs 22:29
Work as hard as you can at what you do.
I know many who have been fired for not doing what they are supposed to do. But it is my belief that we should be the furthest thing from that. We shouldn’t even be close to ever getting fired (yes some circumstances prevent that from being a reality) because we should excel at our jobs and constantly try to find ways to improve who we are as people and what we offer to the world.
Work as hard as you can at what you do.
Don’t just get the job done.
Get the job done well. Make it shine. Make it bright. Make it loud. For all to see.
Work as hard as you can at what you do.
One great thing about this Bible verse is that it promises that those who work hard at their craft will come before the most powerful in the world.
They don’t stay in obscurity because they outshine the mundane.
I think Jesus had another saying about being lights to the world. That’s also true here for those who excel at what they do.
I tend to repeat the things that I feel are worth repeating. I give them emphasis. So TODAY, let me just end by saying:
Work as hard as you can at what you do.
